EXPANDABLE POLYETHYLENE (EPE)
Properties
& Applications EPS is as short form of expanded POLYSTYRENE, which is a cellular foam made from Polystyrene plastic. The common name is THERMOCOLE in India and STYROFOAM abroad. The entrapped gases and air in this foamed material confer upon it three properties and each of this open it to use in a specialized market segment. A) High strength to weight ratio and ability to cushion impacts gives it unbeatable advantages for packaging application. B) The closed cell structure compared mainly of air and gives it very good insulation properties for use in vaccine boxes and cold storage. C)Expanded Polyethylene(EPE) is a foam made by incorporating a gas into polyethylene plastic. |
